GROWING GREEN AT HYATT REGENCY CHICAGO

• Leadership: Environmental consciousness is a key focus for Hyatt Regency Chicago; we are continuously working to develop environmental awareness while decreasing the effects of our operation on the environment. Our Green Team creates and implements green practices throughout the hotel. After completing a Green Seal audit, we began developing new processes to further our environmental stewardship.
• Innovation: In addition to more traditional approaches to minimize our impact on the environment, a unique Green initiative of ours has been the conversion to the use of FDA approved Electrolyzed Water for cleaning and sanitation purposes throughout the hotel. In doing so, the hotel has eliminated over half-a-dozen chemical cleaning solutions and their packaging, which otherwise end up in the local water supply and landfills.
• Education: Arguably our most significant Green effort is education. As the largest hotel in the city of Chicago, we have both the opportunity and obligation to educate our associates about the impact each individual has on the environment. We believe that if we convey the importance of our Green practices in creative ways, then our associates will be more apt to implement these practices in their own lives, as well as truly support our efforts here within the hotel. In providing our associates with not only the knowledge, but also the tools with which they can affect their own lives, our associates can single handedly experience the change they can have on the environment.
